This week, I want to shift our focus to what happens prior to the tour. As an early childhood leader, you have the power to create visibility, build trust, and foster connections within your community, ensuring that families are already seeking you out long before they step through your doors.

Enrollment Starts Long Before the Phone Rings☎️

Enrollment is often treated as a reaction; scrambling when spots open or when numbers dip, shifting focus only when classrooms aren’t full. While this approach is common, it’s also the most stressful and least effective. Strong, sustainable enrollment is built months in advance through intentional visibility, a trusted reputation, and a consistent presence in your community. Families are watching long before they ever reach out. They notice how your program shows up online, what current families say, how your team interacts with children, and how connected you are to the community around you.

By the time a family submits an inquiry or schedules a tour, they’ve already formed an opinion. Enrollment success doesn’t begin with an open seat; it begins with being seen, known, and trusted over time.
